Default Ingame store problems

I know there are other threads about the ingame store, but this one is dealing with problems with it not personal opinions about it!

My main issue is with the price, not the cost, but the tag!

I'm Australian, and I signed up as an Australian. So why the heck when I visit the Ingame store am I forced to view prices in English Pounds! ???

And a guildie even has to view it in Euro's. Why even ask for our country if your gonna use another countries coffers?

I hope its not an ignorant mistake thinking Australians use ?? :S

I would like a serious answer please? If possible.

I'm of two minds on this one. Either somehow you're in a Euro district and it thinks your are European (probably not, but it makes sense to me), or it's a bug on thier end and it's not displaying the correct information to you (more likely).

Either way, it's worth a support ticket to A.Net.

I'm on the USA server, so I'm still wondering why?

I'm starting to think maybe its the whole, Anet thinks we use the british pound.

Cause USA server, but no USD$
If it was Euro server its more likely to be in Euro's.
Only noticable connection is Australian ruled by England.

Only real hassel is changing prices but its the meaning/reason that worries me, why display the british pound?

Regarding the English Pound, I imagine ANet limits the tipes of currency it displays, leaving the convertion to the user. On the side of asking you what country you're in, it's because it's asking you for your billing information. Most credit card transactions will not go through if the information provided does not match that of the card's records.

most credit card companies also charge a commision fee when processing transactions in other currencies that's not your usual >.> so players that don't use the british pound might end up paying extra... unless the actual transaction is in your local currency and just displays GBP for conveniency...

So its not that their ignorant, just lazy. And couldn't bother adding alil extra programming to ensure that a customer can view prices in there own currency. Still doesn't solve why a guildie has it in euros,
What is there only 3 currencies offered by Anet? USD$ UKP and Euro.

Some how I'm sure Anet won't mind if the CC isn't mine.

lol buying from the In-game store is already extra then retail outlets here (For the chapters)
As for the unless the actual transaction is in your local currency and just displays GBP for conveniency..
That's my whole point, I'm going to be buying items and slots from Aus in AUS$, The transaction will be electronic, fees charged and etc.
But why is it displayed in British pounds, Or Euro's for NZ? It not for conveniency, thats for sure.

Rant.
First Australian players get ripped not having our own servers, sure number are abig issue. Australian servers would be the most under populated servers ever (Hey low lagg :P ) Then we get stuck in either US or Euro servers where game play depends on Time zone on the other side of the world. And We'll never see an "Australia currently has favour" notice. But atleast you could pimp your own dam products in our currency
/Rant

Actually it's in Euros which is different from the UKP, because (any althought my info maybe a little old) I don't think britian has yet taken up the Euro.

At any rate we're not even in the Europ, where in the Pacific maybe they'd like me to send them a map.

At anyrate, could we plase have NZD and AUD.

According to Anet, Australia = Europe.

When I signed up, I was thrown into the Euro dists, I switched to American, also I get the pound currency when in the ingame store.

Maybe Anet, seeing that the Queen, being head of state for you guys in Australia/New Zealand, assume that you also fall under our ( Britain ) currency. Although we prefere to use our pound as the main trading currency, not the Euro.
So Anet are at fault, not the U.K trading system/demonination.
Options, complain to Anet, and get it changed, if you feel that bad about the U.K pound or associations with us in Britain

Nope, we still have our very own pounds lol Ireland don't though, they have the Euro so I guess that's what they'd be charged in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you buy from Oz/NZ and it's in euros or US$, your credit card will normally convert that into your own currency. And usually at a better rate than normal conversion rates.

Although it has to be said that it is sheer laziness by Anet not to include local currencies for all countries

There is an NCsoft America, Europe and Korea, but is there one down in Aussieland??

Maybe a legal issue prevents them from taking currency in a region that they do not have a base in.

Alternatively perhaps they, for some very silly reason decided on US dollars and Pounds Sterling would be the only 2 currencies to take. £ and $ have a pretty stable exchange rate and doesnt fluctuate much.

Maybe the Aussie currency (its AUD$, isnt it?) changes it's value too much for them to want to set a price in it, as one day they could get US$10 from you guys for a slot, and the next get US$15 or something, and people would complain.

Dealing with the minimum number of currencies means that people cant complain to them about exchange rate value,

Just my 2 ideas why :S

It would be interesting to hear form a canadian and someone from korea/asia on what currencies they can pay with.

And just to give my opinion >> I was shocked to see £ when I logged in, I was expecting to need to pay US$ anyway.

^^ As was i Mega Jamie.
Most high street stores in Britain, sell and accept in both pound sterling, and Euro. At least untill, a referendum, which is not likely to happen, or by the goverment forcing it though both lower and upper Houses of Parliament.
Again, complain to Anet to get this changed, should you feel the need to. And having Lizzie ( E.II.R ) on your notes, isn't so bad

Sheer laziness, maybe. All I wanted was an answer! Perhaps its easier for Anet, And I would be disappointed but it would still be an answer. The price was never a problem, the display of the price is the issue, Why can't we view what it would cost us in our currency?

Not sure if there is one, but from the lack of respect and attention to Aussie players I'm guessing no, (pre-order outlets were given Limited keys, and CE was late...respect ya'll)

But 700 hundred other on-line stores are alright with it, O o that would be a big no.

Perhaps, but still I would like to know what it cost in MY national currency, before buying.

Yeah its AUD$, and its stable! Not that hard to calculate
Now I'm not a rocket scientist. But [B][I]if the AUD$ was credited to a third world nation (Which we aren't, our currency is stable) and unstable, it would still cost me US$10 for a slot one day; And US$15 the next against the exchange rate. Anet can't effect the exchange rate, And even posted in Pounds, Euros, US$ or Yen, the difference in exchange rate will still be there.
So anyone crying about the price is just an idiot! I would just like it posted in the regions currency!
